Apply for a Grant
We are accepting applications for Neighbourhood Small Grants
Until October 31, 2024 all residents of Quadra Island are eligible to apply for a grant up to $500. Successful applicants will have until June 30, 2025 to complete their projects.
Applying is easy online. Contact Anita at grants@quadraislandfoundation.ca if you have any questions about the process, your project idea, for technical support or a paper application.
We invite projects that address one of the following themes:
Addressing Poverty
Example: delivering holiday toys to low income youth.
Celebration of Indigenous culture and language
Example: Indigenous-led cultural event (e.g. language sharing, community meal featuring Indigenous foods, stewarding local flora for food and wellness, etc.)
Sharing the arts
Example: Neighbourhood musician’s event/jam session in the park; art workshop
Sharing of skills and knowledge across generations
Example: Youth teaching seniors to use iPad/tablets
Growing and eating local food
Example: Mushroom growing/harvesting, community garden work bees, composting projects
Youth-led projects
Example: Youth journaling project (e.g. interviewing seniors); reading buddy program (youth reading to young children and/or to seniors)
Diversity and Inclusion
Example: Host a 2SLGBTQIA+ event (e.g. Pride event)
